Sierra has called Fort Walton Beach home since the age of two. She has been a part of the Companion team since early 2014. A mother of two, her eldest daughter Ariel and the younger her son Clayton. Sierra is engaged to Matt another beach loving local. Sierras’ fur children include a Beagle Maple, a cat Catty Noir, 2 big hamsters Evie and Kai, and red tabby Squee. She also keeps two aquariums a passion of hers since before working at a local reef aquarium. Sierra has kept small pets since her younger years and has worked providing animal care in various settings before joining Companion. Starting as a kennel technician and receptionist Sierra has been training and extending her knowledge in areas of administrative responsibilities taking on the role as our office assistant.
Debbie is our Groomers’ assistant and a boarding technician. She has lived in Fort Walton since 2014, when she made a life changing move from Pennsylvania. She has 2 daughters Deidre and Desiree. Deidre and her two boys, Bradlee and Jordan, live in New York. Desiree and her daughter Aurora live here in Fort Walton Beach with Debbie. Debbies’ favorite color is purple and she has a huge passion for animals. She has two dogs and two horses. She enjoys spending time with her granddaughter Aurora and spending time at the barn with her horses. She enjoys training horses, barrel racing and trail riding. She is a great addition to Companion always looking to grow as a person and an employee.
Tierra is from Niceville and has been part of our Companion family since 2015. Tierra is known for her sense of humor and compassion for animals. She also volunteers as a dog coordinator at Pet Welfare on Eglin AFB and is very involved in the care and well-being of the dogs in the facility. She attended Northwest Florida State College. Tierra enjoys anything pet related and volunteers whenever possible with local pet rescues.
Amber moved to Florida from California in November 2015. She is engaged to Jorge who shares her love of fitness and weight training. Amber loves taking care of the pets that visit in the boarding center. When away from Companion she has a pit-bull mix of her own Xena to share the affection. Amber is currently taking online courses to earn her AA and plans to one day take profession in radiology.
Shelby is a native to Northwest Florida, having lived in
the area her whole life. She has always known that she wanted to work with
animals. She volunteered for Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge for a brief time
before working as a veterinary assistant post high school graduation . After a
couple of years living in Pensacola earning her AA in college, she found her
way back home and joining Companion March 2017. She is fond of schnauzers,
having grown up with ine as her childhood best friend. Outside of work she
enjoys swimming, kayaking, and spending time with her lab mix Arwen.
Jeff is a Fort Walton Beach native but has travelled all over the U.S. from Texas to Indiana to Kentucky and even Hawaii. He is married and just welcomed his first child this summer. Working with animals has been a lifelong passion for Jeff. He has worked at the Gulfarium with marine mammals, in zoos with various animals including birds and exotic livestock, also cats, and dogs in both shelter and boarding settings. When Jeff is not at Companion working hard he can be found at the beach or playing his drums at home.
Shannon was born and raised in Pennsylvania. A military wife to Tim who is active duty Air Force hence the relocation to Florida. They just had their first child, a bouncing boy, Maddox in February 2017. Before heading South and joining Companion Shannon was manager of a pet hotel with a doggie day camp. She loves all animals and has 2 dogs of her own a Yellow Labrador named Kiko and a Wire-hair Dachshund named Mr. Wiggles. Shannon loves the outdoors and is a certified SCUBA diver. Shannon can be found at the beach, fishing , at local festivals, attending car drifting events, or spending quality time with her family in her free time.
